Municipal Center Auditorum

The Baker Municipal Auditorium is available for rental to individuals and organizations.  It measures 110 feet by 81 feet and has a capacity of 450 people.  Rental of the Municipal Center includes the Auditorium, Stage, Kitchen, 30 round tables, 44 rectangle tables, and 374 folding chairs

Rental includes setup of the tables, chairs, podium and clean‐up after the event. The rental hours begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 2:00 a.m.  Security must be arranged with the Baker Police Department if the event includes serving or the consumption of alcohol.

GUIDELINES:

    • We only accept checks or money orders.
    • Final payment must be made at least 30 days prior to the event. Payments made less than thirty days before the event must be made by money order.
    • Cancellations must be made in writing a minimum of thirty days before the event or the entire balance of the contract is due and owed.
    • Deposits are refundable only with a notice of cancellation received in writing a minimum of thirty days before the event and if the auditorium is subsequently re‐rented.

FEE SCHEDULE:

The following schedule, as referred to in Section 16-143, shall be the rates charges for the use of the Civic Room and Municipal Center Auditorium.

Section 44:  Civic Room and Municipal Center Auditorium.

A.  Weekend Rentals (Friday, Saturday and Sunday):

  1.   Weddings and Receptions: (7:30 a.m.—2:00 a.m.)

Rental includes a two-hour walkthrough Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday prior to the event, depending on the availability of the auditorium.

Baker Residents: $1,200.00 per day ($600.00 deposit due upon booking), additional $150.00/day per day for decorating (limited to five days prior to scheduled date, subject to availability)

Non-Residents: $1,500.00 per day ($750.00 deposit due upon booking), additional $200.00/day per day for decorating (limited to five days prior to scheduled date, subject to availability)

  1.  Balls & Formal Parties: (7:30 a.m.—2:00 a.m.)

Baker Residents: $1,200.00 per day ($600.00 deposit due upon booking), additional $150.00 per day for decorating (limited to five days prior to scheduled date, subject to availability)

Non-Residents: $1,500.00 per day ($750.00 deposit due upon booking), additional $200.00 per day for decorating, (limited to five days prior to scheduled date, subject to availability)

  1. Promotional Events: (7:30 a.m.—2:00 a.m.)

$2,000.00 per day ($1,000.00 deposit due upon booking)

  1. Other Events: (7:30 a.m.—2:00 a.m.)

Baker Residents: $1,200.00 per day ($600.00 deposit due upon booking)

Non-Residents: $1,500.00 per day ($750.00 deposit due upon booking)

 B.  Weekday Rentals (Monday – Thursday):

  1. All day Events: (7:30 a.m.—2:00 a.m.)

Baker Residents: $700.00 per day ($350.00 deposit due upon booking)

Non-Residents: $1,200.00 per day ($600.00 deposit due upon booking)

Baker Schools: $300.00 deposit, deposit refunded if event occurs

  1. Non-profit: All-day Events (7:30 a.m.—2:00 a.m.)

(Required: IRS letter declaring the organization has 501(c)(3) non-profit status and proof from Louisiana secretary of state of active status.)

Baker Residents: $400.00 per day, payment due upon booking

Non-Residents: 600.00 per day, payment due upon booking

  1. Rehearsal Dinners: (Three hours Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, upon availability)

Baker Residents:  $300.00, Paid in full upon booking

Non-Residents: $400.00, Paid in full upon booking

Decorating: $100.00 for each additional hour on day of rental (during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.)

C.  Sound System

(Includes mixing board, amp, up to four speakers, two wireless microphones, music/DVD player, and iPod connection.)

Weddings, receptions and balls: $35.00 per hour, for five hours $125.00

Promotional events: $35.00 per hour (minimum of five hours, plus $35.00 for setup and tear-down of sound system)

D.  Lighting System:

$35.00 per hour (plus $35.00 setup)

Please note: Rental of the municipal building shall automatically include the use of the civic room.

**Rental of the civic room alone (25 people max):

F.  Baby Showers: $300.00 for five hours. (Sunday’s only)
