BREC Baton Rouge Zoo
Baker residents are able to enjoy the great outdoors – parks, rivers, forests, wetlands, trails and parks are all in abundance within minutes drive from anywhere in Baker.
Baker also hosts various events and attractions that span from the Baker Buffalo Festival to the Annual Christmas Parade.
There are many activities and points of interest in and around the City, including the Baker Heritage Museum; the Baton Rouge Zoo; Woody Dumas Golf Course; Clark Park, a First Tee sanctioned golf course; as well as boating, fishing, tennis, walking, bicycling or disc golf at Greenwood Park. There are over ten neighborhood parks that offer tennis courts, baseball fields, playgrounds and picnic tables.
Baker City Park, next to Baker City Hall, offers a one-half mile soft-surface walking track, an extensive playground, outdoor exercise equipment for adults and seniors and shaded picnic tables.

Baker City Park
Baker City Park, located next to the Baker Municipal Center, has many amenities. We have a one-half mile walking and running track, extensive playground equipment, picnic tables, plenty of green space and state-of-the-art outdoor exercise equipment–the Energi Total Body Fitness System and the Life Trails Advanced Wellness System.
The Energi Total Body Fitness System: Developed for ages 13 and up, ENERGI combines functional fitness and body-weight training to deliver a synergistic workout that connects all five of the body’s major anatomical systems and exercises nearly all of its 206 bones and 600 muscles.

BREC Greenwood Community Park
Visit BREC�s beautiful Greenwood Community Park located at 13350 Hwy. 19 in Baker. This park has something for every member of your family to enjoy.
This park is located in the northern part of East Baton Rouge Parish. it is one of BREC’s largest parks, located on Highway 19 at New Rafe Meyer Road, near the city of Baker. Greenwood Community Park serves a larger geographic area than a neighborhood park and is designed to engage the entire family for a whole day. Higher levels of maintenance, security, and recreational opportunities are offered at community parks.
