A Message from Janna D. Rogers, JD
City Administrative Officer
The mission of the City Attorney’s Office is to provide and/or facilitate sound legal counsel, advice and litigation support to the Baker Mayor, Baker City Council and all Baker Departments Heads and Agencies. The Baker City Attorney serves as the Head of the Baker Legal Department and as supervisor of all Legal Department personnel. The City Attorney serves under the administration of the Honorable Darnell Waites, Mayor of Baker, Louisiana.
Janna D. Rogers serves as Ad-Hoc Prosecutor for the City of Baker.
Janna received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2014.
She later received her Doctor of Law from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. Admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2021, Ms. Rogers brings a strong foundation in legal research, courtroom advocacy, and public service.
Janna has served as a law clerk for the EBR Parish Attorney’s Office, Assistant District Attorney for 20th Judicial District Court and an educator with West Feliciana Parish School System.
Her work includes prosecuting violations of city ordinances, preparing cases for trial, reviewing evidence, and collaborating closely with law enforcement and city officials to ensure fair and lawful outcomes.
Her role is essential to maintaining the integrity of Baker’s legal framework and ensuring that city governance aligns with both state law and community standards.
