Dear City of Baker Citizens:
The City of Baker is monitoring the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), a respiratory illness that can cause mild to severe symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath.
In our City Building, our Building & Grounds and custodial staff are taking precautionary measures such as sanitizing surfaces, door handles and other common contact points more
frequently. Additionally, we are placing hand sanitizer stands throughout City Buildings for visitors as well as employee work areas.
Listed below are some preventive steps to limit exposure and prevent the potential spread of respiratory viruses as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
• A void close contact with people who are sick
• Cover your cough or sneeze
• If you are sick, stay at home
• If you suspect you or a family member may have an illness, please contact your physician or health care provider.
We are in constant communication with the Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (MOHSEP) and the Louisiana Department of Health in our efforts to
actively protect the public’s health in the City of Baker.
The safety and security of our Baker Community, employees and residents remain our top priority as we continue to monitor COVID-19 and proactively plan to prevent the potential
spread of diseases.
